Artistic Director Hai Yan Jackson trained in Ballet and Classical Folk Dance at the Sichuan Dance Academy in Chengdu, China. After graduation, she worked at the Sichuan Opera & Dance Company. Hai Yan has more than 40 years experience in dance. Since 2000 she has been teaching and planning choreography for the Chung Ngai Dance Troop and the Nan Hai Art Center. In 2004 she planned the choreography and danced in the production of "Fire and Silk". From 2007 to 2009 the Hai Yan Jackson Dance Company performed for "Spring Dance Inspiration-A Cure for Brain Tumors". Since 2006 to present Hai Yan has taught Chinese Dance at the Alonzo King LINES Dance Center in San Francisco, and is a Stanford University Chinese Dance guest teacher. She has had numerous guest performances and choreographed throughout China and the Bay Area.
